Mother Lode Mercantile
The town of Goldfield hosted the miners of the old Mammoth Mine during the late 1800s - the largest producing gold mine in Arizona. Boasting three saloons, a boarding house, brewery, blacksmith, butcher shop and a general store (Peterson’s Mercantile - today known as Mother Lode Mercantile), men from all over the country came here to stake their claim for their own treasures and gold.
The Mother Lode Mercantile offers up a melange of western gifts & souvenirs, old time candies, and gourmet chocolates, but their claim to fame is their moth-watering homemade fudge. Signature flavors include Arizona's original Prickly Pear Fudge - made from the fruit of the Prickly Pear cactus; and their decadent Gold Nugget fudge - filled with rich golden vein of caramel, macadamia nuts, then topped with REAL 23K gold. You'll also find a huge variety of western t-shirts and handbags here, and one of the largest selections of Prickly Pear treats in Arizona.
