ASU PREP SOUTH PHOENIX INVITES COMMUNITY TO CELEBRATE DIA DE LOS MUERTOS WITH FREE FAMILY FUN NIGHT

Recognizing the vital role families play in students’ success at school, ASU Prep South Phoenix Intermediate/High School is hosting an event that honors a beloved family and cultural tradition. The school’s annual Día de los Muertos celebration, taking place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, is free and open to the public.
Enrolled families and the surrounding community will gather for the festive night of family fun, including sugar skull and paper flower crafts, face painting, an altar presented by Cihuapactli Collective, live music performances and a student project showcase. Authentic Mexican food will be available for purchase and those who register will have the chance to win prizes.
In addition, interested families will have the opportunity to tour the tuition-free public charter school serving grades 7-12 (or register to attend an open house at the ASU Prep South Phoenix Prek-6 campus). One of 13 local schools within the ASU Preparatory Academy K-12 network, ASU Prep South Phoenix offers highly personalized college preparatory learning that helps students gain valuable critical thinking skills and raise academic achievement for all learners. In addition, ASU Prep South Phoenix students have the opportunity to take Arizona State University courses for credit.
Bringing families together and nurturing a sense of community are just some of the ways ASU Prep creates a supportive environment where students can excel. During this free community event, families in the area will have the opportunity to explore the school, meet staff, tour the building and experience some of the engaging educational activities that prepare students for success in college and beyond.
