On Sunday, November 17 at 4 p.m., the Community Band ensemble from Desert Hills Community School of Music (DHCSM) will proudly perform a patriotic concert to honor the nation’s veterans. The concert will feature an hour of upbeat marches, military band music and songs that were popular during major wartimes, as well as a raffle drawing, with the winner earning a chance to conduct the band for one piece of music. Attendees are encouraged to show their patriotism by wearing red, white and blue for this free concert, which will be held in the main sanctuary of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, 34605 N. Tom Darlington Road, Scottsdale, Ariz. 85266.

Led by Jeffrey Anthony, director of traditional music at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church and a former band director, the DHCSM Community Band is composed of woodwind, brass and percussion players of all levels. The group is known for performing fun music and themed programs that engage the audience from start to finish. Along with DHCSM’s other ensembles, which include the Flute Choir, Saxophone Ensemble and ensembles designed specifically for children and teenagers, Community Band offers a wonderful opportunity for participants to develop their musical skills in a fun, supportive environment and experience the joy of making music with others.
