Tom Darlington Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz. 85266.

Violinist Asi Matathias, protege of the legendary Pinchas Zukerman, is already recognized as one of the most celebrated talents of his generation. He made his debut at the age of 14 with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta, displaying a musical maturity and inspiration far beyond his years. Since then, Matathias has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras across the globe, and has recorded for the BBC, CBC and other outlets. He is a frequent recitalist, performing extensively throughout Europe, Asia, the United States, South America and Israel, and has collaborated with several renowned artists as an enthusiastic chamber musician. Matathias was awarded the 2017 career grant from “Salon de Virtuosi” in New York; he was also awarded a diploma of excellence and has been supported by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since 1997.

Praised by The New Yorker as an "exceptional young artist,” American pianist Matthew Graybil has performed as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico. He made his orchestral debut at age 14 and has subsequently performed with the Fort Worth Symphony and the National Chamber Players, among many others. Highlights of Graybil's solo career include recitals in many of the world's music capitals, including New York, Paris, Chicago and Toronto. He is also an avid chamber musician, with over 300 performances to his credit; artists with whom he has collaborated include Itzhak Perlman and the Enso and Ulysses String Quartets. Graybil has been a prize-winner in national and international competitions including the New York Piano Competition, the MTNA / Yamaha National Piano Competition and the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts competition. His debut album was released to critical acclaim in 2012 as part of the Victor Elmaleh Collection.

With a mission of working with high-quality, professional artists and musicians to provide the DHPC congregation and the North Scottsdale/Carefree community at large with experiences they might not otherwise have, Arts at the Rocks is a series of performing arts events offered by the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church Music and Arts Ministry. Most events are free of charge and held at the DHPC campus, which offers breathtaking views of the boulders and the desert landscape to further enhance the concert experience.
