Salt River Fields will once again be home to one of the biggest taco festivals in the country, as the second-annual TACO FEST is moving to its new home at Salt River Fields this October 19 and 20, 2024. Brought to you by the former creator of the Arizona Taco Festival, David Tyda, the TACO FEST is Arizona’s new annual tradition celebrating the culture around tacos, taco makers, and the sights, sounds, and energy that surround this beloved street food.

The TACO FEST at Salt River Fields will be a memorable two-day event that brings together over 40 of the state’s most passionate taco makers along with agave spirit artisans, local musicians and DJs, artists, and small businesses to create an exciting experience authentic to our community. This festival is a joyful reminder that food, art, music, spirits, and community intertwine to create a tapestry of experiences that honor the beauty and vibrance of Mexican culture. But at the heart of it all is a feast for the senses, with the savory allure of tacos bringing food lovers together for a memorable culinary journey.

Event producers Lisa Duffield and David Tyda held the inaugural TACO FEST last year in Phoenix for a sell-out crowd. “The event was uniquely Arizona, and shed light on the street taco vendors and local businesses that make our scene so vibrant,” says Tyda. “We’re beyond excited to partner with Salt River Fields again, in this new form, and work with them to create a festival dedicated to being inclusive, innovative, and collaborative – that’s something we call ‘taco spirit.’”

Throughout the event, expect bands and DJs scattered throughout, local vendors selling clothing, ceramics, décor, authentic foods, and other entertainment surprises. The star of the show is tacos. Birria, al pastor, carnitas, pollo asado, carne asada, pescado, veggie, barbacoa, brisket, and cabeza, are just a few of the types of tacos that will be available at the TACO FEST. All vendors will have a single taco option so you can try as many as possible. Tacos will cost extra once inside the event. Those with VIP tickets must be 21+ and receive access to a VIP area with lounge seating, private bar with 5 drink tickets, live DJ, shaded areas and private, air-conditioned restrooms.

General Admission tickets are $15, while VIP is $100. The Agave Show, a spirits tasting experience within the festival, costs $45. Here, over 20 brands of tequila, mezcal, and other heritage spirits from Mexico will be available to sample as straight pours and in cocktails.
